Christopher Jackson's first full collection is a landmark moment
where English poetry regains its spiritual and formal force. As the
book begins: 'Long as I can remember I've been pursued/by a
suspicion of yellow at my back' ('The Lion'). These are poems which
acknowledge that the world is in constant flux ('change shall sweep
through on the unjust and the just' ('March 2020')) while also
hoping for transcendent joy ('I also aim to outlive the wind'
'Dandelions'). In Jackson's art it is acknowledged that the darker
moments are secondary to those moments which are dominated by what
he calls 'the ingenuity of love'. All these poems are designed to
rescue us from despair - it is a book which will change the reader,
and make the ground firmer beneath your feet.
Winner of the Mathematics Association of America's 2021 Euler Book
Prize, this is an inclusive vision of mathematics—its beauty, its
humanity, and its power to build virtues that help us all flourish
“This is perhaps the most important mathematics book of
our time. Francis Su shows mathematics is an experience of the mind
and, most important, of the heart.â€â€”James Tanton, Global Math
Project  “A good book is an entertaining read. A great
book holds up a mirror that allows us to more clearly see ourselves
and the world we live in. Francis Su’s Mathematics for Human
Flourishing is both a good book and a great book.â€â€”MAA Reviews
For mathematician Francis Su, a society without
mathematical affection is like a city without concerts, parks, or
museums. To miss out on mathematics is to live without experiencing
some of humanity’s most beautiful ideas.  In this profound
book, written for a wide audience but especially for those
disenchanted by their past experiences, an award‑winning
mathematician and educator weaves parables, puzzles, and personal
reflections to show how mathematics meets basic human
desires—such as for play, beauty, freedom, justice, and
love—and cultivates virtues essential for human flourishing.
These desires and virtues, and the stories told here, reveal how
mathematics is intimately tied to being human. Some lessons emerge
from those who have struggled, including philosopher Simone Weil,
whose own mathematical contributions were overshadowed by her
brother’s, and Christopher Jackson, who discovered mathematics as
an inmate in a federal prison. Christopher’s letters to the
author appear throughout the book and show how this intellectual
pursuit can—and must—be open to all.
Chris Jackson has written a thoughtful and brilliant study of
Federer as a man, player, and aesthetic and moral figure of our
times. It outplays even Foster Wallace's magisterial writing on
this greatest of all tennis champions. Here is the one of the most
profound, insightful and elegant books ever written about sports.
Without the ability to write, my life would become too silent.
Without an avenue to express my emotions, my questions, each day
would become void. Without an audience to hear me, my words would
become prisoners inside of me. This is my poetry.
When we lose someone close to us it can be a very difficult and
emotional time. It is often hard to find the words to express how
we feel at this time, whether we are the person who has lost
someone or we are a friend of someone in need. Forever Remembered
is a book of 30 poems written to help those who have lost someone
to remember them through words. Poems are a wonderful way to tell
stories as well as express emotions. From Dancing On The Moon to a
Field Of Dreams, from Soft Silk Petals to Ice Cream In The Park, I
hope there are poems for everyone. Christopher Jackson

Over the years, I have been hesitant, afraid, and ashamed to say
what has been on my heart. Often times, the words end up on paper
and stay confined in a notebook buried in a drawer. No longer.
Today, I speak clearly. Without fear of reproach, isolation, or
confrontation. My role is simply to give the message. Speak is my
second collection of writing. It features poetry, including Skin
and My Last Prayer and short stories like Just a Fan and The Judge.
Short scripts (Too Cold for Meowing), essays (A History of Blood),
and personal stories like Escaping Pornography are also included.
My goal in this book is to be more transparent as an individual in
order to help and inspire others. Most of the work was written
between 2012 and 2013. It gives the reader a clearer view of who I
am today along with the message I want to share.
Immunotherapeutic Strategies for the Treatment of Glioma provides a
review of the current state of immunotherapy for primary brain
tumors. The topic is of interest to patients, clinicians, and
researchers alike, particularly given the recent failure of large
clinical trials. This book serves as an overview of the most
promising approaches in the field and provides a foundation for
considering novel and combination therapies moving forward. The
book discusses several types of immunotherapies for glioma, such as
peptide, dendritic cell and heat shock protein vaccines; immune
checkpoint blockade; myeloid cells as target; oncolytic viruses;
and CAR T cell therapy. Additionally, it discusses the mechanisms
of immune suppression in patients and immunogenomics. This volume
is a valuable source for cancer researchers, oncologists and
several members of biomedical field who are interested in novel
strategies to fight glioblastoma.
